Basin City Elementary visits Ice Harbor Lock and Dam

Basin City  Ice Harbor Tour

Children and staff from Basin City Elementary School, Basin City, Wash., visited the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District’s Ice Harbor Lock and Dam, Apr. 22, 2016. Rangers Heather Geertsen, Kavin Carter, and Janet Cook guide the student through each station. The rangers talked about how and why a dam works, the lifecycle of the fish, and the indigenous people during the time of Lewis and Clark.
